English National Ballet
To say Thank You to the First World War generation, English National Ballet gifted The Royal British Legion a performance of the award winning Lest We Forget which returns to commemorate the centenary.
The special performance on Monday 24 September at Sadler's Wells was attended by members of the Armed Forces Community.
Featuring four poignant works, Lest We Forget reflects on the experiences of those who fought in the conflict, and those who stayed behind.
The programme included Russell Maliphant's Second Breath, in which 20 dancers rise and fall, and Akram Khan's award winning Dust which is "full of pain and power" (The Independent). Liam Scarlett's No Man's Land evokes the entwined destinies of the soldiers and munition worker and Stina Quagebeur's Vera tells the searing story of Vera Brittain.
